A portrait of Varda, one of the angelic powers in the J. R. R. Tolkien's literature.

"Varda, Lady of the Stars, who knows all the regions of Eä. Too great is her beauty to be declared in the words of Men or of Elves; for the light of Ilúvatar lives still in her face. In light is her power and her joy." (The Silmarillion)

Wow. You captured her perfectly! She looks so beautiful.

I have seen very few good representations of her... and this is one great Varda ^^

actually, I think her pose is very very good, and there is only one thing I can spot that I dislike. It's her eyes, they're not quite right. If they were half-open it would be lots better, because it would give it a nice dreamy look, and also because, if you're creating stars with your breath, you wouldn't have eyes wide open.

At least that's how I see it... =)

Wow. Thanks. I think you got a point about the eyes. Would be better if she was with her eyes closed, indeed. I started the drawing with her eyes and no clue was to come. But for my defense I say that she is a Vala that "light is her power and her joy", so she can endure some lights righ in the eyes.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.

I said half closed XD

it's not because of the light, it's to give it a dreamy look. I see it as a girl singing... she'd put more emotion to it with eyes half closed ;p

if you let me color it, I'll make the change. what about it?

If you wish, I'd be pleased. Just give me the credits for the lineart. ;)

If you want, I'm working in a better lineart version of this.

Beautiful! I love the different pen styles you used =)
