Mortal life, immortal love

In this work I portrayed the couple of the most beautiful tale wrote by Tolkien: The Tale of Beren and Luthien. Beren, was the great hero of the First Age who, with the aid of Lúthien Tinúviel, the fairest Elf to have ever lived, succeeded in gaining a Silmaril from the Iron Crown of Morgoth. Although, the quest claimed the hand of Beren, wich was bit off by the monstruous wolf Carcharoth. After that, Beren was known as Erchamion, that means 'of the One Hand'. I love this story because it is about the unboundary love that faces all doom, even death.

In this picture I show Lúthien taking care of Beren in the borders of Doriath, after their escape from Angband. This is a simple graphite drawing, but I have a special feeling for it.
